>>>SIX AND COUNTING!!!<<<

Dickey Simpkins was in his usual form Friday night and it yielded the same result – another victory for Alaska.

Simpkins tallied 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting and hauled down 16 rebounds to lift the Aces to an easy 103-85 win over Bgy. Ginebra for their six straight victories in the 2005 PBA Fiesta Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City. The win puts Alaska at the top of the standings at 7-4 win-loss card along with San Miguel Beer.

"Who would have thought that we would be in this position?" said a surprised Tim Cone after sweeping all their six games in April.

"When we are 1-4, many are thinking that I'm a lousy coach. Now that we are on a roll, I feel I'm now the best coach. It's really unbelievable," Cone added.

Alaska is now 6-1 with Simpkins around after starting the season-ending tournament with 1-3 card under the ineffective Leon Derricks.

"Dickey is really the main reason for this sudden turnaround. He's making me a great coach but he really takes the game very seriously. He's more concerned on how to play the right way," Cone explained.

Jeffery Cariaso added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the win while Brandon Cablay chipped in 13 markers and 10 feeds.

Reynel Hugnatan contributed 12 markers and 9 boards while Don Allado added 10 points in a show of balanced attack by the Aces.

Simpkins and Cariaso teamed up in the pivotal third period where they outscored the Kings in that stage, 34-18, to mold the rout.

Alaska was holding to a 51-60 margin when Cariaso drilled a three-pointer that sparked a scorching 17-2 run to erect their biggest lead of the game, 77-53, 1:24 left in that stage.

The Kings, behind new import Andre Brown and Eric Menk, managed to slice the lead to just 10, 74-84, 5:05 left in the game but the Aces won't allow Ginebra to stage a comeback.

Don Allado drew a foul on Menk after converting an undergoal stab and got the ire of Kings coach Siot Tanquingcen that resulted to a technical.

Cablay sank the technical free throw but Allado muffed the bonus charity but somehow doused the momentum of Ginebra for an 87-74 lead, 4:48 remaining and took the game for good.
