When I was in senior high, you were a freshman in Ateneo. I could not help but notice how you stood out among the others. The way you look in your Ateneo jersey, young yet mature, full of dreams, just like what I have always dreamt of in a man. Hmmm, is this love? I told my friends about it and frankly told me, >>no, ‘twas foolishness…<<

As the days, months, years passed, my fondness for you grew stronger, and I could not help but tell my friends of what I feel, thinking this must really be love… But in strange voice they answered me… >>No, ‘twas foolishness…<<

Time came and you were already in your senior. In a few months, you will soon leave the Ateneo Basketball Team, unknowing of what I feel for you. I had to make up plans on how I will be able to see you frequently. I had to skip my classes just to be able to watch you play basketball or even had to go to where you are just to catch a glimpse of you. I would never let a day pass without a peek at your face. And soon, due to my ^cutting classes^, my grades began to fall, some failed, and my teachers asked me about this, and I had to be honest with them so I told them what I think is my reason of a low grades… *I’m in love…* but my teachers only shook their heads and in a regretful way, answered me, >>No, ‘twas foolishness.<<

And now that you’ve already left, I could not help but cry… I one by one tried to remember everything, right from the moment I saw you there at the basketball court, waiting for the game to start, the time when you had your first championship, the first award you had and the failures you went through… how about the times when you were with your girlfriend during after the games??? I couldn’t help but soften a little and wonder… is this really LOVE… just like a lightning that struck me. A voice inside me said in a heartfelt tone…everything… This is utterly foolishness.
